The Journey Towards Empowerment, Advocacy, and Self-Worth
An authentic Disability Life Coach has not only survived their own personal trauma, but they have thrived in spite of their challenges. In other words, the coach has walked the walk. I live with multiple chronic illnesses such as Ehlers-Danlos, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and Dysautonomia. I understand the difficulties of being a disabled person in a society that refuses to center our needs due to a social construct of disability. I understand what it is like living as a "spoonie" struggling to maintain friendships and relationships, having to constantly advocate for yourself with doctors and professors, trying to make ends meet, and hating my body for its limitations. As a coaching professional, I offer my knowledge and practical guidance as someone who understands first hand how to live a fully engaged life as a person with a disability.
Together, we can:
Gain greater clarity about if, when, and how to self-disclose about your disability.
Expand your ability to make clear, direct requests for support and accommodations.
Learn to problem-solve and make decisions with less stress and more confidence
Become more resilient, adaptive and creative.
Develop skills as an open and direct communicator.
